DC CRANK RADIO
MIC CHECK
DC Crank Radio’s Mic Check is a monthly platform built for DMV artists who are ready to be heard. Whether you make Go Go, Hip Hop, R&B, Rock, Alternative, Afrobeat, House, Gospel, Pop, Country, Jazz, or something that does not fit neatly into a box, the mic is open to you.
Every Third Thursday, artists from across DC, Maryland, and Virginia come together at Afro Lounge to perform, connect, build relationships, and put their music in front of DC Crank Radio. Mic Check is more than a performance opportunity. It is a chance to introduce yourself to the station, meet other creatives from around the DMV, grow your audience, and open the door to future radio play, interviews, features, and other opportunities with DC Crank Radio.
Mic Check is also a space for the people behind the music. DJs, producers, composers, engineers, managers, promoters, photographers, videographers, and other music industry professionals are welcome to come connect and build with the DMV music community. Producers and composers are especially encouraged to submit music and introduce their sound to DC Crank Radio.
All genres. All sounds. All sides of the industry. One DMV. Ready for your Mic Check?

DC Crank Radio
DC Crank Radio is your go-to destination for everything related to the vibrant and dynamic DMV artists and culture. Broadcasting the very latest tracks, engaging interviews, and compelling stories from local musicians, dedicated creators, and influential cultural icons, this station is committed to celebrating the diverse and rich talent that the D.C., Maryland, and Virginia area has to offer. Tune in to discover not only emerging voices but also established legends, as you explore the intricate and colorful tapestry of the region's arts scene, and engage with the community in ways you may never have experienced before. Join us at DC Crank Radio, where every beat tells a captivating story and every story truly deserves to be heard.
DMV or Nothing is DC Crank Radio’s dedicated drive-time segment built to put DMV artists in the spotlight during one of the most important listening windows of the day: 4 PM to 7 PM EST, when people are getting off work, riding through the city, stuck in traffic, or tapped in on the way home.
This opportunity is great for local artists because most stations do not give independent DMV talent that kind of prime-time placement. DMV or Nothing gives artists a real chance to have their music heard in rotation during a high-attention time slot, while helping push DMV music and culture to a bigger audience.
DC Crank Radio’s mission is to provide an international stage for DMV music and culture, and this segment is one of the ways we are making that happen. Every approved submission helps us build our first full block of DMV-only music and gives local artists a platform that treats their work with the same respect as major releases.
